Contribution to the DMY Youngsters, International Design Festival Berlin, 2009

The 7th edition of DMY International Design Festival “Same same, but different” will kick off in June. Showcasing works by internationally acclaimed designers as well as reveilling prototypes by the young talent the festival this year especially focuses on design that makes a difference. Presenting three huge main exhibition zones next to a varied program of lectures, panel talks, performances and parties the festival itself tries to change the city at least for five days.

The exhibition of the DMY Youngsters introduces the up-and-coming generation of national and international designers. Featuring projects, prototypes and close-to-production products, the event presents the freshest design trends, innovations and experiments on a 7.000 m² exhibition space at the Arena Berlin. It is intended for group and solo exhibitions of beginners, students and young design studios, companies or agencies, as well as institutions, design schools and associations.

Paradise Lounge

With “Paradise Lounge“ raumtaktik brings a selection of “Updating Germany“ to Berlin. This exhibition was initially conceived by Friedrich von Borries und Matthias Böttger as the German contribution for the Architecture Biennale 2008 in Venice. The lounge mixes Ton Mattons installation “Technical Paradise”, “ReDesign” furniture by Oliver Schübbe and Laleh Torabi’s illustrations for the book “Bessere Zukunft?”.
