Exhibition: 2.12.2015 - 14.02.2016 // DAZ, Köpenicker Straße 48/49, 10179 Berlin

The title of the exhibition, which will be opened on December 1st at DAZ and which will be shown there until 14 February 2016, is a quote: "You play this game, which is said to hail from China. And I tell you that what Paris needs right now is to welcome that which comes from far away. (Der Grillentöter / L'Ammazzagrilli)". As a short form one could also use the keyword, which is based on the research of the Italian-born and Berlin-based artist Ingrid Hora: "freizeyt" or "leisure time".

With this exhibition project, curated by Emanuele Guidi, ar/ge kunst continues to reflect on its thirty years of activity as Bolzano’s Kunstverein (art society) and on the meaning of its own name (ar/ge kunst as Arbeitsgemeinschaft or working group).

Against the backdrop of the progressive disappearance of the border between leisure time and labour time, in this exhibition Hora traces a series of historical references that make explicit how the management of leisure time in "productive" terms is a preoccupation that emerges with modernity.

The time and space of the exhibition are articulated by seven sculptures – translations of sports equipment – which produce a sort of potentially performable and functional "gymnasium" where two videos and one performance are also presented.

The exhibition will open in Bolzano on September 11th for the first time and will then travel to Berlin.
